Sound Bath Sessions to Leave Feeling Lighter
Why Sound Baths Are So Effective for Stress…
A sound bath is a meditative experience incorporating different instruments such as gongs, drums, chimes, voice, singing bowls, and more! Services like sound baths are important to help with stress. So many of us carry a lot of stress and tension, and it’s nice to have a space and service that helps to quiet the mind and help regulate your nervous system.
-Where did sound baths originate?
-India, Greece, Egypt, and Indigenous Cultures used sound to balance the body or for spiritual practices.
-What does it do?
Sound baths bring you from a sympathetic state, also known as fight or flight, to a parasympathetic state, known as rest and digest. The frequencies guide your brainwaves from active (beta) to relaxed (alpha/theta) states felt in deep meditation and while sleeping.
-Is there any science to back sound baths?
A 2016 study in the Journal of Evidence-Based Integrative Medicine found singing bowl meditation significantly decreased tension, anger, fatigue, and depressed mood.
A 2023 study in the European Journal of Investigation found Tibetan singing bowls induced significant psychological/physiological relaxation, altered hormone levels, and increased alpha brainwaves.
-How long have you been practicing sound baths?
I’ve been diving into researching about sound and frequencies and collecting instruments since 2020. I got certified as a sound bath practitioner in 2022, and I’ve began incorporating sound into facials ever since. I’m always adding on to my collection!
-How can I experience a sound bath?
